Personal Traits:

Fill in the blank___________________________________

Some things you don’t know about me.

  • Vegan since I was twelve
  • Animal lover
  • Eternal student
  • Volunteer at Gillette Children’s Hospital and local pet shelter
  • Finished 21 marathons and two triathlons
  • Best marathon time 3:10 – Best triathlon time 2:06
  • My day starts at 3:00 a.m.
  • I don’t drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or take drugs, including aspirin, Advil, or Tylenol.
  • The quality of life is more important to me than living longer
  • I’m adopted and have two sisters.  Joyce-oldest, Maria-youngest.  OMG I’m the “middle” child.  We are all from different parents.
  • I know a lot of people and a lot of people know me.  I’m very well known in the fitness world and in my own and surrounding communities, but I only have one true friend.  She died December 18th, 2009.
  • I was a professional dancer in my mid teens and early twenties and lived in New York for a year
  • I was in one episode of the TV show Fame.  Met Janet and Micheal Jackson on the set.
  • I was brutally attacked at knife point and left for dead in my burning studio.  My neighbor across the hall saved my life.
  • I returned home in a wheel chair (not because of the attack) and was told by two neoru-surgeons I would never walk again.
  • Eight months later I took my first step through my own self-inflicted therapy, perseverance and sheer determination.
  • Two months after that I ran the Twin Cities Marathon with my worse time ever.
  • Met my husband, got married, had a baby girl. 5lbs-6oz.  Horrendous labor and delivery.  Was told by doctors I will never be able to carry a baby to term again and should have my tubes tied
  • Two years later I miscarried at seven months.  It was a boy.  I dreamed of him many years earlier and named him Yuri.
  • Taught PhyEd in my school district for one year.  Left that profession after one year.  It was too political and cut throat.
  • Had a high-level, six figure income job with lots of perks, fancy car, huge house, unlimited expense account and left it all behind in a blink of an eye
  • Worked at a local news station doing hair and make-up.  I hated it.  I once again left behind a lot of money and special perks.  Not worth it
  • Was co-owner of a high end salon in Minneapolis.  Cut many celebrity heads of hair.  Bill Murry, Tony Danza, Robin Williams, William H. Macy, Prince, Garrison Keillor, Kevin Sorbo, Jessica Lange,  and many more.  I’m such a name dropper
  • Played golf with Bill Murry.  Well, we goofed off more than we played
  • 7 days after 9/11 I landed at ground zero and stayed for almost three months.  I have never been on an airplane since my return home
  • Accident detached both my thumbs.  Have pins and rods holding my thumbs on
  • Founder of the Kids Fitness Camp

I can’t share all my personal stuff with you.  It’s as much as I can share on a blog.  This is just a list (and not a complete list) of things “about” me, not who I am.  I hope we meet someday.
