I had the pleasure to be part of the Bead Soup Party hosted by Lori Anderson.
So pull up a chair and get ready to blog hop. It might take you a few days to get through all 97 blogs. You can go here for a list of all the links. “Thank you Lori for pulling this all together. I may not have left a comment on all the blogs,(because the “name” option was not enabled) but I faithfully visited them all.
I wanted to draw a sketch first to get an idea on how to place the beads. When I sat down to do this my head wasn’t in the game, I was all over the page and ended up drawing this instead. Can anyone interpret this into a necklace? Any bead weavers out there?
My Bead Soup partner is Debbie Goering. She sent me the coolest mix of beads. The pendant is made by Stacey Barnes from clay and broken glass. Tube beads by Clay River and two different size bronze metallic Czech glass and jasper ovals.
The sterling silver hook clasp is hand forged by Debbie herself.
MAGICAL TURNED INTO THIS…
I did not know we could add beads to our bead soup design from our own stash until I started blog hopping and saw the others. If I knew that before, this would have a whole different look.
I wanted to keep an organic, uncomplicated feel to this so I used black hemp cord in triplicate. Debbie’s sterling silver clasp really finishes this piece.
If you want to be included in the give-away of this necklace, please add that to your comment. A winner will be chosen and posted here on June 30th. Winner will not be notified and will need to send their address to my email on June 30th.
Thanks for visiting. Please snoop around a bit.
Love and Good Health, jeannie XO

I really like the earthy feel to your piece, the deisgn suits the beads well.
Thanks Kella. I feel the beads do to.
You did a great job on keeping the organic feel. I like to look – casual and funky
Thank Stefanie. Organic, that’s me.
Really cool necklace! I love the beads and how earthy it is. Your sketch is pretty cool too:)
Thanks! It looks more like a doodle maybe.
Dark beads to me are always so intreigueing with so much
Mystery! This is a lovely necklace youve created! So pretty!
Thank Janet! Mystic just popped in my head when I saw the beads.
I believe that adding other beads to this necklace would have detracted from the organic and earthy ambiance of it. I like how you used the beads and kept it coolly sophisticated and balanced. It’s perfect the way it is!
Thanks Cathryn. You’re probably right about adding other beads.
I totally agree with Cathyrn that adding anything else would have detracted from the purity of this design. It is earthy and lovely just as it is. Those beads deserved to be showcased in just the way you did them. I would love to see an upclose picture of your picture design. As a beadweaver, it would be a challenge to translate that into beads. I loved the feel of it. Send it to me and I will give you some ideas.
Chris, that sketch was about how I was feeling that day and not the necklace. It resembles how I was feeling inside. I torn the sketch out and ripped it up. It is very small because the paper is only 3X3.
Thank you for your lovely, thoughtful comment. God, how I wish I would have kept the sketch!
very nice, and earthy looking I like it!
Thank you Norma
Love this. Very primitive. I have a very similar pendant I made and haven’t used. Now I think I know what I’ll do with it.
Thanks Cindy. You’ll have to send me a picture when you do.
Amazing design as always… Wonderful work!
Thanks Melinda for always being there and cheering me on! XO
I love the design of this necklace! Very dramatic and earthy piece. Has a Celtic feel to it.
Thanks Megan. It’s funny how everyone decribes it differently. Cool!
this turned out really well..it also took me a long time to “get” my soup mix.
i especially like the wire wrap for the focal to slide on.
Thanks Nan! Yeah, I was having trouble gett’in my bead soup on.
I think it came out suberb! I think it’s great you used only the beads you were sent, very earthy!
Thanks Kate. I tried to comment on your blog, but it keeps telling me the sever is down?
I think the necklace is great without adding anything – and I would love to be entered to win it!
Thanks Elisabeth and done! I guess you’re the only one so far.
I love the cording — that’s perfect for this piece! You did a great job!
Thanks Lori
Wonderful work! Mystic suits it so well, congrats!
Thanks. I tried commenting on your blog, but you don’t have the “name” option enabled.
Great soup! I think that it is fun to challenge yourself to only use what you got. Next time you can do it differently. But this turned out really well.
Enjoy the day!
Erin
Thanks Erin, you’re a gem. I hope I get to participate next time to.
I love the necklace and would love to win it – very generous of you. I like that it is simple. Just right. Very nice design.
Thanks Nicki. I guess you and Elisabeth are the only two in the drawing at this point. Check back on June 30th.
I love your piece it makes me want to travel to a Buddhist temple and meditate- slipping my fingers from stone to stone with my eyes closed. Sometime simplicity is just so elegant!! Nice job!
Heather that is a beautiful thought, thank you. I’m a master yoga instructor so that is a nice visual. I don’t know how to post on your blog unless you enable the “name” option.
Very nice – love the use of the cording to pull it all together!

You did very well without adding any new beads. Love the earthy organic look and come to think of it, I can see where you were going with your sketches. Nice work.

Thanks so much.
Beautiful work as always, Jeannie. I’d like to be entered to win the necklace. I don’t have anything like it.
You did a beautiful job using only the beads you received, it doesn’t seem to need anything else! Buuut, would love to see what you might have done with some extras
We can’t do it all, save those ideas in a safe place for later use. Please include me in your Giveaway! I’ll be away from home, may not have access to your blog that day, will try. Thanks!
Sharon thanks I appreciate that. You will be included in the drawing for sure.
Jeannie, I love what you did with the beads and pendant. This necklace would be so great to put with a pr of jeans and T to dress it up. I really like working with cord and it looks soooooooo good with you design. Am working on my 2nd piece with your beads and the little flower, will post soon.
Hey Partner, Thanks. I’m glad you like it. I do agree this necklace would look great with jeans and a T.
I love what you did! I think the necklace is very earthy and organic! Great job!
